I learn about their ideas, their readers’ interests, their testing methodologies and their opinions about our ideas. Creative brainstorms that come from casual conversations at IDF and other events give my team and me better industry perspective and other viewpoints. In addition to what the name suggests, the Intel Capabilities Forum and this blog are all about sharing ideas, cooperatively developing those ideas and implementing them to improve our industry’s testing methods. Here, we hope to increase the frequency of our communication in an open and productive way while inviting others to participate in an ongoing dialogue.
As the PC platform and its uses continue to evolve, the industry is at a crossroads, and it’s time to consider new test approaches to address new usage models. We believe this new approach should center around what we like to call platform capability assessments. Some have already started down this path and some already know every bend, pothole and corner on this ride. Some have new ideas and some want to stick to the tried and true. At the end of the day, we are all after the same thing – great tools that deliver relevant and accurate assessments. Let this be a great start to a challenging and fun journey toward a new path in benchmarking. Welcome to Benchmarking 3.0.
What is benchmarking 3.0 and what were 1.0 and 2.0 editions? Tune in for the next update of my blog where I’ll share my thoughts on where we've been and where we are headed.
